This
time I want to be a bit more serious, or solemn to be precise, yet remain casual.
In
this session I’d like to share my own experience which includes the wisdom that
God has put in. I titled this writing “Time Controller”. I
usually begin my writing by inspiration from people experiences and God gives
me wisdom to put them into writing. So, here’s what I got this time.
I
was sitting in the bus as group of coeds, all of the sudden, took their seats
in front of me whilst gabbing. One of them later asked another, “If you ever
given a super power as in X-MEN, what would you like it be?”
They
answered one after another, “I want the power of controlling people’s mind”
“Moving anywhere in a blink of eye!”
“I think ‘mind controller’ stuff is kinda cool, I’m with you on that.”
“Moving anywhere in a blink of eye!”
“I think ‘mind controller’ stuff is kinda cool, I’m with you on that.”
I
was, in fact, intrigued by their conversation. I also found myself amused as I
made my own choice. I’d like to have the power of controlling time, sort of ability
to pause, delay, and quicken the time, or even to change the past and go to the
future. Can you imagine me with that kind of power on my own ??
As
the time went by I had forsaken the conversation from the bus until the moment I
spent my evening in the porch, savored the wind that swept over my face. I
began to daydream and think over all things I’ve been through, achievements
that I haven’t been yet able to accomplish, questioned myself of all promises I
haven’t fulfilled. Later, some thought popped up in mind. “What if I can bring back the past, or slow down the time, maybe even
extend the day up to 32 hours, so all those postponed things can be
accomplished?”
Just
at the exact moment I pondered, I heard a voice and was certain that in my contemplation,
God was there with me. He looked and listened at me. I wouldn’t doubt it as He
is omnipresent. The
voice spoke softly, “If you ever have
such ability, you’ll be at the same level as God”. I praised the Lord for
His wisdom in me.
Human is created as the same image as God, isn’t it? And then
I tried to look deeper about how amazing the human is, to be created as the
same image as God. Look
at Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and many more brilliant genius people God has
created in life. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are two of few people who have
invented things that affect the world evolution. The idea is they invented
things. They’re two amongst few other inventors as you can find out further at http://www.buzzle.com/articles/list-of-famous-inventors.html
WOW!!!
I came to think back to myself, “What
would I possibly invent in the future, God?”
I
hope you’re all able to find the grasp here. The bottom line, we are the most
magnificent and brilliant creature of God. We, as the human beings, are created
in the same image as God?? Whatta privileged!
As
I smiled & found myself amidst the sense of exuberance, I’ve been taken to
the point where I finally realized that NONE OF THOSE PEOPLE HAS EVER INVENTED
THE TIME CONTROLLER. None of them, in my
opinion, were able to invent such a device that I’ve been demanding for long,
the time controller. Maybe, if such a device ever exists, I would’ve turned my
life differently. I wouldn’t be in the wrong faculty, I’d slow down the clock
just before the class began or, as the matter of curiosity about my life
partner, even to fast forward it (Wondering who is he gonna be!).
Super
power? To control others’ mindset? I think we don’t need any super power since
God has provided us with the power to control others’ mindset. Look at Eve when
she coaxed Adam to take a bite on the forbidden fruit, a proof that she has
successfully controlled Adam’s mind. Or you can also take salesman for example.
They’re capable of inducing people to buy their products (to say it bluntly, I
was one amongst “the victims” :p).
The
point is, super power as we call it,
is actually the gift that God has provided us with. You want to move from one
place to another instantly? Go get the airline’s ticket and you’ll be in Paris
by tomorrow for dinner, in London on the following day for breakfast, and in
Moscow by the midday for taking pictures. Piece of cake!
We,
whatsoever, would never able to have “Time Controller” kind of thing on our own
unless we really take our agenda seriously and accomplish it as properly as
possible. Yet the right moment is
only belong to God. He has the power to put the right thing, the right person,
in the right time and moment. From
there I realized that things might be
gone the other way as we’ve never predicted, but it will eventually catch up
again with us as long as we have God comes along. He owns the time and the
right moment. God has the authority for everything. There’s nothing happens
without His approval, there’s nothing can be done without Him. Even death and
evil would never able to touch us without His permission. In one condition,
though. We surrender all. I don’t mean we give up every single thing to God and
being idle. There are things that beyond our reach and can only be done by God.
Another
thing God taught us is to appreciate time in a brilliant way. TRUST IN HIM. We’d never know what is
about to happen in the next five minutes, or an hour, or even a day, a month, a
year from today (Who would?). To refer from Matthew 10:26-32, I have no idea
what would it be even a second from now, but I value the time by ‘believe’. It doesn’t mean, once again,
we being idle and do nothing. With all the efforts I do to attain the dream
that God has put in me, I trust Him to do His part. Trust that God has the
ability to do all things. If the say “I believe in God” means we fully trust
Him, then ‘Believe’ is the first
step before ‘Trust’. Trust is how we
act. It isn’t how we wait in God’s timing, but more likely how to act while we
wait for His perfect moment.
Every
single one of us has a particular super
power from our Lord because we’re His super
children. We have the super power to pursue our dreams. We also have to trust God to do His part! Completely
trust Him!!
Things might not go as we planned, but that’s not all. That’s not the end. Let
God do His part, trust Him and learn from the mistakes we have done. Find out
how the faults occurred, what the solution is and how to prevent them from
happen again in the future. I really hope I’m not perplexing you here. How
does God make everything beautiful, magnificent, that’s what I love about Him!
Never
say that your life is a faulty. People make mistakes. But more than that, God
wants us to learn, not only to understand, to perfectly know that He has
PROVIDED us with things we’d never even give a second to think about. Isn’t
that wonderful? Why
should we waste the energy to worry about things that aren’t our part? Or being
so much grumpy just because our impatience gets the better of us about our
dreams, or dream that seems to be failed. That way we have
spent our energy for naught. It’s a completely worthless deed.
So,
stop grumpy, open the eyes and take a look around. Whose life isn’t in problem?
Who’s the one who lives without mistake(s)? Take the next step, trust in Him.
Lift up the life to God, as in Proverbs 16:3, and see how we’re able to do
things that most people say impossible to bring the glory for Jesus.
I
think that’s all for now, remain be excited, remain be bless, keep learning,
and together we joyfully make Christ disciples of all the nations in the faith
to our Lord. God bless and look forward to my next writing!
Thanks
to: My Mighty Jesus for His wisdom and
